Pastor Wayne grew up living the cowboy lifestyle and later became a professional bull rider. As a young boy, he attended church with his grandmother in Gordonville, Texas, where he came to know the Lord and began building the foundation of his faith.
After retiring from professional bull riding, Wayne met his wife, Kerrie, in 1999, and the two were married in 2001. He went on to spend more than 15 years in upper management roles within the construction industry, gaining leadership experience that would later serve him well in ministry.
In 2016, Wayne sensed God calling him to preach the Gospel. Along with two other elders, he helped launch Open Gate Cowboy Church. In 2018, God opened the doors for the church to officially begin, and Wayne now serves as its Senior Pastor.
Wayne and Kerrie are blessed with four children — Lila, Colt, Ty, and Stran. When he’s not serving the church, Pastor Wayne enjoys spending time with his family, riding horses, and digging deeper into God’s Word.

As a founding member, David has served in leadership since the early days of the church. As a Texan for over 30 years, he works as a utility/concrete/dirt superintendent for a construction company servicing Central Texas. David is an avid gun enthusiast, and has also participated in motorcycle road racing as a family with his wife of 48 years.

A native Texan and a small time cattle rancher, Vernon worked for 41 years as a Distribution Lineman for three municipal utilities and two electrical co-ops. Since joining our church in 2021, he has served as a Lay Pastor for three years before becoming an Elder.

Born and raised in California. Served in the U.S. Navy, Mobile Construction Battalion 62 (Gulfport, Mississippi). Retired as a Gas Crew Foreman for a gas and electric company on the West Coast. Lars has been an Elder since 2021.

From El Paso, he was raised in West Texas and the Texas Hill Country. Michael has lived as a ranch hand (a working cowboy, doctoring and feeding cattle) on ranches of various sizes. In the rodeo, he has competed in bull riding and eventually clowned for three years. Michael has been an accomplished Christian Cowboy Poet for 40 years.

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, "John P." is married to his wife for 45 years, and a father of two beautiful children. He spent 48 years in the Oil and Gas industry, and has been preaching and evangelizing since 2021. He leads 'God's Fire Pit Ministry for Men' on Thursday nights at his place.

Dale is a retired career educator; a school superintendent for 12 years. His heart is with the Lord and his family, and he was ordained a Deacon in the Southern Baptist Church 20 years ago. He is a cowboy at heart, and loves long distance travel by car or truck.

Darren's family moved to Texas from Minnesota in the mid-80s.  A descendent from a long line of farmers, he's a country boy at heart. Living in Lampasas since 1999, he's raised 5 kids with his wife of 20+ years, but is now a widower. He's a life-long carpenter and business owner, but a recent convert to the faith.
